Visiting Portland: Transportation

ACA2022 will be held in person at the Marriott in Portland, Oregon.  This venue is centrally located with hotels, restaurants and shopping nearby with easy access to entertainment, hiking and other activities.  Set along the beautiful Willamette River with the backdrop of majestic Mount Hood, Portland combines a sophisticated, cosmopolitan atmosphere with a refreshingly friendly, small-town warmth. In a state boasting 48% forest coverage and celebrated for its proximity to nature, Portland's metro area is scenic in its own right. The city has 37,000 acres of green space, including nearly 300 public parks, and 166 miles of trails.

Portland International Airport

Travelers named Portland International Airport (PDX) the best airport in the United States in Travel + Leisure’s survey every year from 2013–2019. PDX is currently served by 13 international and domestic airlines offering more than 500 scheduled passenger arrivals and departures daily. Sixty U.S. cities offer nonstop flights to Portland, including Atlanta, Orlando, New York, Boston, and Chicago.

"This remains one of the best airports in the United States," said one fan, who described Portland International Airport as "not too large, clean and well-designed, and equipped with an excellent mix of restaurants and shopping — even a small movie theater."

Portland International Airport is conveniently located less than 10 miles from Portland’s city center.  PDX is also home to a train station, international airport and bus hub.  Get to PDX and find a number of different options to get to your destination.

TRAIN: The Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) light rail Red Line is the easiest way to travel to and from the airport. The trip between PDX and downtown takes about 38 minutes and costs less than $3.00.

TAXI: The average taxi fare from the airport to downtown is approximately $35 before gratuity. The one-way trip takes 20-40 minutes. You can find taxis waiting in the center section of the airport terminal’s lower roadway outside of the baggage claim.

RIDE-SHARE SERVICES: Uber and Lyft both offer drop-off and pick-up services at PDX.
