ACA SciArt Show

Call for Entries

Share your artistic creations at the 2022 meeting of the American Crystallographic Association! Show us how you’re using art to present your science and how your science is informing your artistic work. We are looking for entries from all media that showcase the talents of the ACA community and beyond. These include traditional 2D paintings and drawings, 3D sculptures, animations, and virtual reality.

Format & Logistics

Art show pieces are anticipated to be displayed throughout the poster sessions.  During Poster Session #2 the ACA will host an art show inviting all of our artists to stand with their pieces for discussion and questions.  Further, art pieces will be on display at the Closing Banquet.  Participants in the show will be responsible for bringing their artwork to the ACA meeting site and removing it at the end of the meeting. Unfortunately we cannot provide insurance to cover damage or loss, so this will be the responsibility of the participant.

Not attending the meeting? We’d still like to see your work as a digital submission. These works will be on display as part of the show and on the website. Please use the same submission form below.

Entry

If you would like to participate in the show, please submit an entry form describing your work. Participants interested in presenting non-traditional media, such as virtual reality, are encouraged to submit entries early to streamline logistics of presentation at the meeting.

Deadline for submission: June 15, 2022

Before you start the application process please make sure to have the following information:

  • Artist Name(s)
  • Affiliation
  • Title
  • Description
  • Photo of the Artwork Suitable for Inclusion on the Website
  • Will you bring the art work to the meeting with you or is this a digital submission
